Grooms Wedding Speeches - Would
You Like Some
Help?...
You will
say the most important words of the day, if not your life, when
you say "I do".
Now it’s your chance to thank
everybody and tell your bride how much you love her and
in front of all your family and friends.
Daunted? Don’t be – everybody is
there because they want to be. They‘ve chosen to spend
their free time watching you marry the women you love,
and, for once, the focus is not on her dress, but on
you.
Remember that if your bride is not
going to give a speech, all your words should be from
both of you.
Make this clear throughout your speech; you don’t want to
just include your new wife in a single section of it as
if you’d only just remembered her at the last
minute.
Oh, and beginning your speech
with, “My wife and I …’ usually provokes an immediate
audience reaction.
The groom’s speech is the place to
thank everyone who has helped to make the day special and
to thank the guests for gifts on behalf of yourself and
your new wife.
Your speech is also where the
groom gets to say something lovely about the
bride. Often
too, you’ll make a last-minute comedy plea for mercy from
the best man.
If you feel up to it, you can also
introduce some funny stories – but make them touching
rather than too risqué. Don’t use these stories
as an excuse not to say what you feel about your
wife.
You’ll probably want to say
something about how you met, about how your relationship
developed, perhaps something about love and
marriage.
Many grooms find it difficult to
speak about their feelings so publicly, but a few brief
words, spoken from the heat, is all it takes. Quoting a poem or a song
lyric to help you express how you feel is perfectly
acceptable.

You dont want your guests to remember grooms
wedding speechs like this, do you????
